The fatal crash happened around 10:30 p.m. on Orange Blossom Trail near 23rd Street.

Details about the vehicle have not yet been released.

Troopers said the woman, whose name has not been released, was walking across OBT when a northbound vehicle, possibly a white Toyota, struck her and kept driving. The woman was not in a crosswalk, troopers said.

The woman was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center, where she died, officials said.

Witnesses told News 6 that the vehicle never slowed down as it left the area.

"He just hit her and she flew up in the air and then came back down on the car real hard, man," Donald Francis said. "It's like you heard it, like a crash. I heard her scream out, and I decided to turn my head it was so horrible."

The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
