Woman, 72, struck, killed on I-Drive in Orlando

Florida Highway Patrol investigates fatal crash

ORLANDO, Fla. – A 72-year-old was struck and killed Tuesday morning as she crossed International Drive in Orlando's tourist district, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The fatal crash was reported around 6:05 a.m. on I-Drive near Convention Way.

Troopers said the woman, whose name has not been released, was crossing the street when she was hit by a 2002 Toyota driven by a 55-year-old Ocoee man.

The FHP said it's unclear if the woman was in a crosswalk when she was struck.

The driver was not injured.

No other details have been released.
