All of Central Florida was in record heat territory Tuesday afternoon, and Daytona Beach managed to break its prior heat record.
Daytona Beach hit 88 degrees on Tuesday afternoon, shattering its previous record of 87 degrees for the same time that was set back in 1939.

In addition, February is set to finish up with a total of 24 days with above-average temperatures in Central Florida. Three days were below average, and one was within a normal range.
As of Tuesday afternoon, Orlando is on track to see its third-hottest February on record.
Tuesday night, gusty winds are set to slow down and lighten up to 3-5 mph.
Overnight lows will settle in the 60s, though a patchy fog is expected to develop after 2 a.m. and linger through 8 a.m. on Wednesday.
After that, the heat will be back again, as expected highs in the upper 80s last throughout the rest of the work week.
A cold front might see a few chances for rain over the weekend, but it’s not expected to be a washout.
