ORLANDO, Fla. – The cold front that brought widespread rain and scattered thunderstorms to Central Florida on Sunday is now ushering in another blast of cold air for the start of the workweek.
A strong north to northeast wind, 10-15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph, on Monday will help to funnel much cooler and drier air down the peninsula. Temperatures will only rise into the 60s by the afternoon, under mostly sunny skies.
Temperatures into Monday night and early Tuesday morning will again fall into the mid to upper 40s near to northwest of I-4 and in the 50s across much of the rest of east Central Florida.
Strong high pressure will continue to build Tuesday afternoon, quickly veering winds onshore but remaining busy along the coast. This shift will start the gradual warming trend across the area, with highs increasing to the low to mid-70s Tuesday, with additional clouds overhead.
Through the rest of the week, a strengthening high pressure to our north and a stalled front south of us will keep Central Florida under a tight pressure gradient. Due to this setup, it will become windy through the rest of the week with scattered showers returning to the area. Rain coverage increases to 30-40% by Thursday and continuing into the weekend.
