On Friday night, things remain windy and humid with some sprinkles and light showers moving across or area. The low in Orlando will be 64.
Saturday, things get wilder. Look for a rapid intensification of our winds. The low in the Gulf will deepen and move our way.
Look for showers to begin by mid-day, then get very heavy for a few hours between 7 p.m. into the early-morning hours on Sunday.
Here’s the radar by 10 a.m. on Saturday.
Here it is by 5 p.m.
And here is the look at midnight.
A dry slot will develop early Sunday, and the danger from the storms will lower.
However, the wind does NOT slow much. The latest models keep high winds wrapping around the back side of the low as it moves northeast.
Here are the wind gusts Sunday at 1 a.m.
We should have a break after some early showers on Saturday before the heavy rain rolls in late Saturday afternoon and evening.
East winds will persist, especially near the shoreline. The risk of excessive rainfall and severe weather will heighten in the early evening through at least the early overnight hours.
Winds will shift southeast and then south, increasing in strength. Elevated and veering winds above the surface could contribute to the development of strong, rotating thunderstorms as the low progresses inland and across northeast Florida.
Shower and storm coverage is expected to gradually diminish through sunrise from west to east as dry air infiltrates behind the low.
Our greatest hazards will be the High Winds, Heavy Rains, and the possibility of an isolated tornado overnight Saturday into the early morning hours on Sunday.
Even on Sunday after the storms have passed, the winds will veer and be coming from the west-southwest but will still be pushing at close to 40 or 50 mph gusts.
