ORLANDO, Fla. – It will be a dry and breezy start to our workweek in Central Florida as a large ridge of high pressure remains in control over the next several days.

The breeze is expected to pick up again out of the east between 15-20 mph and gusts near 25 mph. Along the breeze, a few brief sprinkles will be possible at the coast as temperatures warm into the mid- to upper 70s.

The strong winds will once again cause hazardous conditions for beachgoers and boaters. Long-period swells will produce rough surf and breaking waves of 5-7 feet, which could cause some beach erosion and a high risk of rip currents.

Another spring front will approach Central Florida by Thursday, increasing our temperatures ahead of it. Highs on Tuesday and Wednesday are forecast to climb into the mid-80s followed by a cooldown into the mid-70s by the end of the week.

Rain chances will remain low through Wednesday, with a gradual increase in coverage (30-50%) Wednesday night into Thursday morning along the frontal boundary. A few storms will be possible, including lightning, small hail and gusty winds.

The long-range outlook shows a nice Easter weekend ahead, with temperatures running near to slightly above average in the low 80s while remaining mostly dry.
