Beach, pool, boat? Be ready to beat the heat this weekend in Central Florida

Cooldown possible on Monday in Orlando area

ORLANDO, Fla. – Sandwiched between two large high-pressure systems, Central Florida will continue its dry and hot stretch through the weekend.

The light onshore breeze will lead to highs ranging from the mid- to upper 80s along the coast and low 90s over the interior. These values are forecast to remain just below records by 2-3 degrees across inland neighborhoods and 4-6 degrees along the coast.

Patchy fog may be possible Friday night, mainly around the I-4 corridor, through early Saturday morning.

There will be limited cloud and rain coverage into the weekend, allowing temperatures to heat up even further. Highs are forecast to climb up to 10 degrees above normal this weekend into the low 90s. The average high in Orlando for this time of year is 83.

Thankfully, the low humility will keep heat indices close to the actual air temperature.

A weak cold front will approach the state on Monday, increasing rain chances across the area up to 50%. Isolated storms cannot be ruled out, but chances for that remain low.

Behind the front, afternoon highs will cool by Monday afternoon, with highs in the upper 70s to low 80s and lows falling into the 50s overnight.
