ORLANDO, Fla. – Scattered showers will continue to speed across Central Florida Wednesday morning and into the afternoon, with coverage staying at 50%.
Breezy to windy conditions will continue through the day, with winds up to 20-25 mph and gusts up to 30-35 mph.
1With the added cloud cover and consistent breeze, temperatures should hold below average in the mid to upper 80s.
Overnight into Thursday morning, the showers and the breeze should continue with overnight lows in the mid to upper 70s.
Beachgoers and boaters should beware as dangerous conditions are expected with several warnings in place, including high surf, rip currents and a small craft advisory through late Thursday.
Through the rest of the week, a weak disturbance near the Bahamas, will track closer the Florida coast. Available moisture will remain high because of this, with coverage of rain staying at 50-60% as highs stay below average in the upper 80s.
While some areas will see multiple rounds of rain, overall rainfall totals are forecast to remain under 1 inch.
This same area has been highlighted by the National Hurricane Center for a low potential (20%) of tropical development in the next few days. Luckily, models continue to show the system remain as an open wave with no significant development.
The National Hurricane Center is also closely monitoring two other areas in the Gulf of Mexico.
