ORLANDO, Fla. – SCORCHING TEMPERATURES:
Another day of major heat concerns across Central Florida as official highs are expected to climb back into the mid to lower 90s. While conditions remain very humid, peak heat index numbers are forecast to once again soar between 102-109 degrees for several hours each afternoon this week.
STORMY AFTERNOONS:
A stagnant weather pattern continues for the next several days as the development of the sea breezes remain the main driving force to our storm chances each afternoon.
Our best shot for rain and storms will be in the collision zone of those sea breezes, which are forecast to be along I-95 and west around the I-4 corridor. With limited steering, showers could push back toward the coast late in the evening.
Primary hazards will once again be heavy rainfall, lighting and gusty winds.
Little change is expected in the pattern through the rest of the week, with a persistent forecast with rain chances at 60-70% continuing into the weekend.
TROPICS:
We are tracking two juicy tropical waves in the tropics, one in the Caribbean and the other the eastern tropical Atlantic. Both have a low chance for potential development over the next seven days.
As of now, no big concerns for Florida.
Along with those areas, we are also tracking plenty of Saharan dust across the tropics. This layer, which is normal this time of the year, tends to suppress big time tropical development.
By late weekend and into early next week, long range models are showing some of that dust to arrive into Central Florida, making our sunrise and sunsets more vibrant while also slightly reducing our air quality.
