ORLANDO, Fla. – A large ridge of high pressure will continue to break down through the day as a mid-level low over the western Atlantic shifts closer to Florida, keeping the Orlando area under a stormier pattern for another afternoon.

A stronger west breeze will keep high rain chances in the forecast across the eastern side of the state with rain coverage at 60-70% starting a bit earlier Tuesday afternoon. Scattered to numerous showers and storms will develop and slide toward the coast into the evening hours.
With the storm motion expected to be low, the biggest threat will be additional flooding concerns and gusty winds (40-50 mph).
Due to the earlier onset of the rain Tuesday afternoon, highs are expected to remain in the low 90s, although “feels like” temperatures will reach up to 105 degrees.
The majority of models show a gradual decrease in storm coverage by Wednesday and into the weekend as some drier air filters over the region. Daily storms (50-60%) are still expected for inland neighborhoods each day, with activity diminishing by sundown.
Less rain and clouds around means hotter conditions through the weekend, with highs in the low to mid-90s and heat index values climbing back up to 110 degrees. Depending on humidity values, heat advisories might be issued by then.
After a busy July start in the tropics with Beryl strengthening into a record breaking major hurricane, a small lull across the tropical zones is expected for the next seven days. Plenty of Saharan dust remains suspended across the tropical Atlantic, suppressing any significant tropical development.
