ORLANDO, Fla. – Happy Friday!
Afternoon highs on Thursday reached 87 degrees in Orlando, which was a nice break from the intense heat.
But the heat returns on Friday across Central Florida, with afternoon highs reaching 95 in the Orlando area. With the high humidity, it’ll feel like 102-107 degrees, so stay hydrated.
After 3 p.m., scattered rain and storms are likely to develop along the I-4 corridor. A few thunderstorms could produce heavy rain, lightning and gusty winds at 20-25 mph.
The Saharan dust is not as prevalent across the Peninsula due to Thursday’s showers. The air quality has improved for most of Central Florida, except Osceola and Brevard counties. Sensitive groups in those counties should use precaution if they are outside.
Heading into the weekend, the heat sticks around with moderate rain chances at 50-60%.
