Scattered strong thunderstorms expected to linger. Here’s the timing

Some storms are expected to produce strong gusty winds between 50-60 mph

ORLANDO, Fla. – The unsettled weather is expected to continue through Sunday evening. Scattered storms are expected to produce heavy rainfall, lightning, pea size hail and wind gusts between 50-60 mph through the next few hours.

TIMING:

From 6-7 p.m., scattered rain will persist across most of the metro area with strong winds.

Between 7-8 p.m., a few storms are forecasted for Central Florida but should gradually diminish.

From 8-10 p.m., there’s a chance of lingering scattered heavy rain in the southern counties.

The upcoming work week, rain chances remain moderate to high due to the collision of the sea breezes. Scattered storms are expected along that boundary producing heavy rain, strong gusty winds and lightning.

High pressure system builds over the peninsula keeping afternoon highs above average in the upper 90s.

Make sure to drink plenty of water and to stay hydrated.
