ORLANDO, Fla. – After front brought strong and severe storms over the weekend, it is now bringing much cooler air for the work week, prompting a freeze watch for Sumter County.

"High temperatures Monday will only be warming into the low 60s after starting out in the 30s and 40s across Central Florida," News 6 meteorologist Troy Bridges said.
Sunshine will abound in the Orlando area over the next several days, and rain chances stay out of the picture until Friday.
Overnight lows will dip into the upper 30s in Orlando, with northern counties seeing even cooler temperatures.
The cold blast has prompted Brevard County to open so-called "cold weather" shelters. They are are intended to provide warm overnight shelter for the homeless and those without adequate heating.

Tuesday' s high will be in the upper 50s, with overnight lows again dropping into the 30s.
Weather officials issued a freeze watch for Sumter County, including The Villages, from late Tuesday night through Wednesday morning.
Temperatures will gradually warm up, with highs on Thursday and Friday reaching the low 70s.
