At 500 AM EDT (0900 UTC), the center of Post-Tropical Cyclone Ida was located near latitude 41.4 North, longitude 71.6 West. The post-tropical cyclone is moving toward the northeast near 28 mph (44 km/h), and some increase in the forward motion is expected on Thursday.
Maximum sustained winds are near 40 mph (65 km/h) with higher gusts. Little if any change in strength is forecast during the next 12 hours.
The estimated minimum central pressure is 998 mb (29.47 inches).

Flood and Flash Flood Watches continue across portions of southern New England.
Tornado Watches are in effect for portions of Rhode Island and Southeast Massachusetts.

RAINFALL: Post-Tropical Cyclone Ida will produce the following rainfall totals:
Across Coastal Maine: 2 to 4 inches, with locally higher amounts over Downeast Maine through Thursday afternoon.
Across Rhode Island and eastern Massachusetts: An additional 1 to 3 inches through Thursday morning.
