ORLANDO, Fla. – Hurricane Milton made landfall as a powerful Category 3 storm Wednesday night near Siesta Key.
Below is a list of attractions that announced closures prior to the storm, and when some will reopen.

Brevard Zoo
The Brevard Zoo will be closed on Wednesday, Oct. 9, and Thursday, Oct. 10, as our state prepares for Hurricane Milton.
All updates will be noted on the zoo’s website and social media channels.
Busch Gardens Tampa Bay
Due to the projected path of Hurricane Milton, Busch Gardens Tampa Bay will be closed on Tuesday, Oct. 8, Wednesday, Oct. 9, and Thursday, Oct. 10.
Howl-O-Scream is canceled for Thursday, Oct. 10. Tickets may be used for any remaining Howl-O-Scream event nights.

Central Florida Zoo & Botanical Gardens
The Central Florida Zoo & Botanical Gardens will be closed Tuesday, Oct. 8 through Thursday, Oct. 10.
Our teams are working hard on preparations at the Zoo to ensure the safety of our animals and staff.

Fun Spot
Fun Spot America Orlando and Kissimmee theme parks are reopening Thursday, October 10 at 3 p.m.
“We’ll be opening in a hybrid format, with most rides and attractions ready for you to enjoy.” said John Arie, Jr., owner and CEO of Fun Spot America Theme Parks. “The majority of our food stands will be open to serve family favorites.”
Gatorland
Gatorland will remain closed on Thursday, Oct. 10 and Friday, Oct. 11 for clean-up at the park after Hurricane Milton.
The first weekend of the Gators, Ghosts and Goblins Halloween Event is still scheduled to take place Oct. 12 and 13, at this time.
Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex
Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex will remain closed on Friday, October 11, and will reopen on Saturday, October 12 at 9 a.m.
All attractions, exhibits, programs and the Kennedy Space Center Bus Tour are expected to be open for regular operating hours from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. beginning October 12.
Legoland Florida
Legoland Florida Resort is closing all park operations on Oct. 9 and 10. At this time, Legoland Hotel will remain open at a limited capacity.
“We are closely monitoring the path of the projected storm as we continue to prioritize the safety of our guests and Model Citizens (employees),” Legoland said in a statement.

Museum of Arts & Sciences
The Museum of Arts & Sciences and the Cici and Hyatt Brown Museum of Art in Daytona Beach will close early at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 8, and will remain closed on Wednesday, Oct. 10, and Thursday, October 11 in preparation for Hurricane Milton.
Orlando Science Center
The Orlando Science Center will close to the public at 3 p.m. Tuesday and will be closed on Wednesday and Thursday.
The center will reopen on Friday and will offer camp for children in grades K-5. The same goes for Monday, a school holiday.
SeaWorld Orlando, Aquatica & Discovery Cove
On Thursday, SeaWorld Orlando announced it was reopening Friday but canceling SeaWorld Spooktacular and Howl-O-Scream.
“Following Hurricane Milton, we will resume normal operations at SeaWorld, Aquatica and Discovery Cove in Orlando on Friday, October 11. Spooktacular and Howl-O-Scream are cancelled on Friday. We are grateful for our dedicated team of animal care experts, including veterinarians, who remained onsite during the storm to monitor the animals, and we appreciate our ambassadors who came in today after the storm passed to ensure our parks are ready to welcome our guests.”
SeaWorld Orlando
SeaWorld Orlando offers a “Weather-or-Not Assurance” policy.
If extreme weather impacts their experience in the park or impacts their flight plans for an upcoming visit, SeaWorld invites them back within 12 months – at no extra charge for park admission.
On Thursday, Universal Orlando Resort announced its reopening Friday and released the following statement:
“Our hearts are with all those impacted by Hurricane Milton, and we are dedicated to helping our community recover. We are also grateful for the hard work of our Team Members during this challenging time.
On Friday, Oct. 11, we look forward to welcoming back our guests as we return to our normal operation across all our theme parks, CityWalk, and Halloween Horror Nights inclusive of Early Park Admission for Universal Orlando Hotel guests, Premier Passholders, and Preferred Passholders.”
Universal Orlando Resort
Theme parks and Disney Springs will remain closed on Thursday, Oct. 10, and Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party will be canceled (event tickets will be refunded).
For partially used multi-day tickets, ticket expiration dates will be adjusted to expire on October 11, 2025
These closures include the cancellation of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and Magic Kingdom on Thursday. As a result, event tickets will be refunded.
Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground and the Treehouse Villas at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa are temporarily closed.
They are likely to remain closed until Sunday, October 13.
Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon, Fantasia Gardens, Fairways Miniature Golf and Winter Summerland Miniature Golf remain closed on Thursday.
Prepaid bookable experiences will be automatically refunded within 7 to 10 business days.
