‘Do NOT do this:’ Dog tied up, abandoned along Florida interstate ahead of Hurricane Milton

Milton set to strike Gulf Coast before moving through Central Florida

TAMPA, Fla. – With less than a day before Hurricane Milton’s expected landfall on Florida’s Gulf Coast, troopers shared a video of a dog left tied to a pole along Interstate 75.

The Florida Highway Patrol released footage of a trooper pulling over on the side of the highway near Bruce B Downs Boulevard on Wednesday morning.

The trooper then approached the dog, which was standing nearly chest-deep in water.

“It’s OK, bud. It’s OK,” a trooper said as he walked closer to the animal.

Despite the dog growling and barking at the trooper, the FHP announced that troopers were ultimately able to rescue the animal.

“Do NOT do this to your pets please...” a post by the FHP reads.
